Who is CDCS?

Founders, Donna Cross and Carrie Akhurst
Culturally Directed Care Solutions (CDCS) was founded by Donna Cross (Compliance and Quality Manager), and Carrie Akhurst (Expert Trainer and Content Creator).
They share a passion for helping providers deliver quality care and believe that older Australians deserve person-centred and culturally safe services.
The dedicated and skilled CDCS team have lived experience in the Care sector – helping hundreds of providers to address problems and improve outcomes.
CDCS partners with providers to constructively resolve challenges with a solution-focused approach tailored to each organisation’s needs.
Aged Care providers face unique challenges in maintaining and delivering quality care and services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and to older people living in rural and remote locations, or culturally diverse communities.
CDCS has worked extensively with many small to medium organisations across Australia over the years.
Our team comprises experts in the operational side of home and residential care, as well as finance, management systems, governance and aged care education.

Donna and Carrie helped us to get our heads around this new world of aged care standards, systems and reporting. They not only helped us to learn, but taught by assisting us. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. They share it with generosity and grace. They continue to keep in contact and are accessible to be a sounding block and share resources beyond the confines of a contract of work.
